With the exception of Leon Garcia isn't a little premature to pat the 3 Amigos on the back? I contacted the Elections office and they said they would not be able to determine the winners of the American Canyon City Council race because there were way too many absentee ballots and ballots turned in last night when lines were too long.
Someone once said to me if you sling enough mud like the amigos did eventually some of it will stick. I guess it did.

so bitter you are! So let me check back in with you about a previous topic of your girl cindy and the fact that she was not driving her mercedes benz utility vehicle. You stated that her schedule was too busy with the election to have her vehicle repaired. Well how strange is it that several weekends ago my wife and her girlfriends were at cache creek casino and guess who was there?? Cindy Coffey.. Talk about putting your priorities in the wrong order. It seems that if you have a vehicle that needs repair you would place that in order of more importance than blowing money at a casino. Wouldn't you?

Mookie - why would it matter, if you have other vehicles? Apparently her not driving a specific vehicle is an issue for you. Maybe fixing that car isn't a priority. Who really cares anyway?

Gentleman: First, both Beth and I would like to congratulate your commitment, your integrity, and the class to which you all three ran your campaign. You have chosen to use the ‘High Road’ and it illustrate what you gentleman are made of. It substantiates that integrity was needed in American Canyon’s political scene. We are proud of you Leon, for being our very first ‘Mayor of American Canyon’. You will provide the City with the level of professionalism that we have so long needed with the rest of Napa County. Ed and Don, the same goes for you both. The City now has elected officials that, in their heart, will provide the best for our City with the best. Congratulations to ‘OUR’ Three Amigos.

While we await the final count and certification of the final results of the election I wanted to point out some WINNING Attitudes. They may have come up short in the final tally-but are clearly made of the "right stuff"
-Cecil Shaver for his volunteer efforts on Measure G and for such a positive campaign.
-Bill Russell for not accepting any donation of more than $20 and taking the time to make his own signs. I saw some Kym Gilson home-made signs that were eye-catching.
-James Walker for his positive campaign (while attending school full-time) he also ran a great campaign on a tight budget.
and for all the volunteers who worked so hard on Measure G! (The pre-election get-together at my house last Friday was the LEAST I could do. It was great that Dr. Glaser and his wife made it to AmCan to show their support)
Time for everyone to roll up their sleeves and 'get to work' and make AmCan the 'best little city' in the Napa Valley!

James: I hope you will try to run in the future again, its good to see some young guys getting into politics and supporting our city, I got into it at a young age and I want to give you all my full support. I hope any other young people out there will run as well next time!
Congratulations Leon

Congratulations to Leon Garcia your campaign slung enough mud and I guess it stuck. I guess Coffey best be better about getting the message out about the lies told about her. Now we wait and see what the final tallies will be for city council.
Thanks!

According to the Register this morning the election results are final. Congratulations to all.
One thought that came to mind in regard to the current Wal Mart litigation... if I understand it correctly, the City broke it's own ordinances and also did not follow laws set forth by the State of California.
With Mr. West's adament stance on law enforement will the "anti-walmart group " have another representative on the Council?
It will be interesting to see...

When the City Council candidates were on the Harry Martin show, Mr West was specifically asked if there was an EIR done on the Walmart site. He stated YES. If he felt he was educated on the subject enough to answer this question, his answer should have been NO. Please Mr. West and any other council members - do your homework and know what you are talking about, BEFORE YOU TALK.

I hope somebodey does a recount.

"Sorry- if the City of American Canyon and the Developers didn't break the law, this wouldn't be happening. There are laws in place for a reason. The Anti - Walmart group didn't make them up. This would have happened with any other store had the City not followed the law. Safeway and the City should have been accountable for their mistakes back then as well. We can't rubber stamp everything. Watch the new council and see how that's gonna happen. - Wait and see. "

The American Canyon City Council election ain't over yet.
Cecil Shaver, the outgoing mayor of American Canyon, has asked for a recount of the Nov. 7 ballots cast in American Canyon, John Tuteur, the county's registrar of voters said Friday.

"Mr.Shaver needs to take a lesson is from other council candidates and lose gracefully. It is sad he's being pushed by "other" candidates to continue the race and it's over. By allowing himself to be used as a pawn by "other" candidates-he's losing the high marks he earned as a member of the council and Mayor. "

Cecil Shaver is his own man. Since he is spending his own "Money" for the recount why should you have a problem with it Mr. Rivera? Joan Bennett requested a recount in her election bid against Lori Luporini. I didn't see you tell Joan to bow out gracefully Mr. Riveria instead you launched an all out campaign to rid Luporini so you could imput Ms. Bennett in her place. Agendas? Agendas? Now that your organization has completely locked the City Council with Leon, Joan, Don & Ed, Lake Street Ventures must be totally elated. I wouldn't be surprised to see major changes in the General Plan that will favor any project Mr. Butler wants to do. Special friends get special privledges.

The article stated that he is using remaining campaign dollars to fund this recount, then when those funds are depleted, he will begin to use his own money to continue to fund the recount. I am sorry but Vic is right, he is being"pushed" by your girl Cindy Coffey. She has lost the only person she can "boss" around and talk down to. I am sorry Cecil, but when it has come to Ms. Coffey and her behavior, it appears that you are intimidated by her. You do not stand up to her enough and residents have witnessed this take place.
WRONG!

Joan Bennett DID NOT ask for a recount. Get your facts straight.
What organization are you talking about? The CITIZENS voted for the candidates you are talking about.. So I guess it's all a conspiracy, right?
Please step away from the computer and the keyboard and try to do something more meaningful with your life. Volunteering, Fund-raising, litter pick up..something else...PLEASE!

Being gone from American Canyon for the past eight months has, indeed, been enlightening. Not having to be at council meetings twice a month, and not taking the "hits" has been wonderful. But being involved for 10 years, means that you still care about the future of American Canyon. The intense fighting for the pool, the middle school, the gym, and the zip code was a learning experience. But, when issues get solved and come to a positive conclusion, you feel like you have accomplished something for all. But because you care, sometimes, too much, things get taken personal. I am shocked at the ugliness that went on in this past election.
Before 2000, we never had this kind of nastiness in elections. What happened in American Canyon that elections became so bitter? Elections were always ran with the ideas that each person had for the city, not what the other candidate did not have to offer. I always thought positive about "my" city.
I feel for each person on the council and the decisions that each has to make. Most subjects are not popular and some not even thought about by most citizens. As long as the toilets flush, who cares where it goes?
But the council members are having to make these decisions. No one cares if there isn't enough water, as long as they have it in their own home.
Give these people a break and listen to why they make decisions for the future of the city.
I am happy to live in the county and my family is enjoying me being at home and not stressed by city business. They also enjoy that no one is calling me names and being rude. It is a tough job and each one deserves respect for stepping forward and taking the job. It is a job that doesn't please everyone.
Think positive about your city and you will be positive.

\This made the news couple days ago. From Former President George Bush regarding his son Jeb's loss in his run for Governor
He said he was proud of how his son handled losing the 1994 governor's race to popular incumbent Democrat Lawton Chiles, and vaguely referred to dirty tricks in the campaign.
"He didn't whine about it. He didn't complain," the former president said before choking up. As he tried to continue, he let out a sob and put a handkerchief to his face. When he spoke again, his words were broken up by pauses as he tried to regain composure.
"A true measure of a man is how you handle victory and how you handle defeat, so in '94 Floridians chose to rehire the governor. They took note of his worthy opponent, who showed with not only words but with actions what decency he had," Bush said before again sobbing.
Sorry Vic your wrong about Joan....

Joan did request a recount, but couldn't come up with the money to have one done. So in turn your group went after Luporini and forced her to resign, then ran Joan in the June special election.
Sigh (again)

MCB-
Joan DID NOT ask for a recount, I know. I helped her with her campaign. We discussed that option via telephone and decided it would not be prudent, but rather, more disruptive.
Anyhoo..You seem to be stuck on the Luporini thing. Ms. Luporini resigned from her position, AFTER the City Attorney investigated and determined she INTENDED to move BACK to AmCan from Dixon. SHE Resigned.
I did stand in front of the city council and point out she wasn't living with Lorraine. Facts which were later proved to be TRUE.
Why do you seem stuck on this. If you are, at least get your story and facts straight. NUFF already..Lori seems to be very happy with her life in Dixon..Don't you think it is time to move on????

Yes after your group harrassed a poor dying woman into signing a statement which Impact 94503 drafted. Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!

You were totally off base with your last posting.
No one forced anyone to sign anything. As Lorraine said "No one ever asked me if Lori lived with me. She does not. I will not lie for her"
Do you NOT know the meaning of truth vs. spin? You spin things very well..Try the truth once in a while.
And PLEASE get your facts straight. You really lose so much credibility when you just throw stuff out there that is reputation damaging, hateful and just factgually incorrect. No wonder your candidates were so unceremoniously REJECTED. People aren't as dumb as you think they are-they can see through the mud.

The world according to Victor Rivera. Must be nice to live in a glass house.
From my eyes watching an elderly woman cry because of your group Impact 94503 harassing her daily is sad. You know the ends don't justify the means if you have to step on people to get there. Why don't you admit it. You guys were mad because Luporini extended the olive branch to Coffey and refused to get involved with your games.
News flash Victor, it is quite obvious from the last election and the voter turnout that people in American Canyon just don't care that much about the community they live in. They also don't care about you, me or anything else that is not in their little world. Or just maybe they are so busy trying to support their families and give them the American Dream and pay for these over inflated priced homes they don't have time to pay attention and therefore don't vote because they don't know what is going on. Either way it has given your group the advantage continually making poor decisions in this City. American Canyon was a nice sleepy town which made it attractive to many. Now it is just like every other community that doesn't take care of the needs before the wants.
Where do I begin...

1) You seem to forget Lori resigned over residency issues. Nothing at all to do with Cindy or their relationship.
2) Everyone but Luporini is getting blamed for her deception.
3) The last election was the a refelction of who the citizens felt could lead them. You are somewhat correct about everyone having their personal issue-that's life. But you can't seriously believe all the negative campaigning actually helped move the city in the right direction?!
Anyhoo- have a happy holiday.

I truly cannot believe what kind of warped, twisted and straight up EVIL comments are made by MCB. I should not be suprised, but I am. You are truly rotten to the core using Lorraines name in such a fashion. She in no way deserves to be associated to this crap that you make up. So in the spirit of Christmas, why don't you give yourself a useful gift...some counseling!! Merry Christmas.
